I find the topic of mascara very interesting. Maybe its because I have always been very picky about mascara? The right mascara and the way you apply it can really change your makeup game. It can really make your eyes pop, even if it's the only eye makeup you wear.
Because of my slight obsession with mascara, I decided to start a mascara challenge on my YouTube channel to help you narrow down your search for the perfect mascara!
* Did you know that only 88% of women wear mascara?
* Did you also know on average it takes trying 8 mascaras until you find your favourite one?
I can remember back to when I was a young lass on the hunt for the perfect mascara - I would get so frustrated! From all the advertisements, to all the products to pick from at the various stores; I literally think I have tried every single mascara ever made! However in the end I would never get the results I desired. Sound familiar?
After years of trial and error (And hundreds - if not thousands of dollars spent...) I have found my absolute favourite mascara that I always use on both myself and my clients; and I share with you what that one is at the end of the mascara challenge so please check out and stay tuned to my YouTube channel.
I found my favourite mascara about 4 years ago and have never strayed since! However, since I started working at Sephora, one of the perks is being able to try out a lot of different products - including mascaras. I have narrowed down my Top 5 mascaras based on what I have tried, and wanted to go through them, use them, and actually compare them side by side. So each day I am wearing one mascara on one eye, and another on the other eye. This way I can compare them side by side and actually see by the end of the day how they both wear. It was actually quite eye opening as the mascaras I thought I would like better, did not actually always turn out that way! The first video I did was comparing new Anastasia Lash Brag mascara and the Hourglass Caution mascara. Both are cruelty free brands. The Anastasia brush is thicker, while the Hourglass brush is thinner. Check it out and see how they wear and compare against each other HERE:
The next video I did in this mascara series was the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir (with primer) vs the IT cosmetics Superhero. Both brushes were a medium size and were really nice to work with as they made it easy to apply. To see this video, click here:
I then picked my favourites out of both of these, and compared them side by side. In the end it was time to compare the winner of the competition to my all time holy grail favourite mascara! Stay tuned to see what I picked!! Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so that you don't miss any of this head to head comparison!
Take care 💋
